| Studio One:
|
Studio One is divided into four
areas:- the main recording room (14’4" by 12’10"),
the live room (13’5" by 10’9") containing
the grand piano as well, the control room (11’ by 9’)
and the machine room / conservatory. Both the recording rooms
have direct window contact with the control room, though not
with each other, and there is natural light in every room. For
keyboards there is a racking system in the control room which
conveniently saves space. Most of the work in Studio One involves
bands playing live, and the layout, screens and directional
mics combine to give excellent separation. Real drums and acoustic
instruments are actively encouraged here! SADiE 5 digital editing
is available in Studio One. SADiE 5 has 8 inputs and at least
24 tracks for overdubbing and has Cedar Denoise and Retouch.
It will sync to the RADAR to give extra tracks or treatments,
and allow projects recorded in RADAR to be mixed digitally within
SADiE 5. |

The control room in Studio Two
measures 13’ 6" by 9’ 6" and has a pleasantly
spacious feel because of its split-level design and big windows.
There is excellent visual contact with the overdub room (9’
by 9’) which again has natural light. There are tie-lines
through to Studio One for recording live drums or grand piano.
SADiE 3 digital editing is available in the Studios and copying
room. SADiE 3 has up to 8 tracks for overdubbing and has over
6 hours of memory. It will sync to the multitrack to give extra
tracks or work as a giant (non MIDI) sampler. A Plextor CD-R
writer and Exabyte backup are installed.
